Camilla's 1st Sesame Street Birthday Party

Sunday, July 22, 2018

My baby girl just turned one year old! Since she was six months old she likes watching Sesame Street at PBS Kids and hasn't changed at all, so I knew I had to celebrate with these little monsters because they have brought so much joy to my little girl.

As part of my tradition with all my kids I made the invitation because I wanted a custom design to match the colors of her room with the party. You can now find it at my shop Magic Maker Club and I also made a few extra items to match the design. At the entrance I made a "Guest Book" sign, so everyone who came to the party could leave her a special note, that she would read when she is older. I made tags for the goody bags and I made her a 1st birthday sign milestone with all her favorite things.

For her party I wanted to do a lot of DIY things because I wanted to stay in the budget. With the help of my older kids we made/paint some indoor games for the family, like "Pin the nose to Elmo", a Toss Game with balls made out of a cardboard box and a Ring Toss made out of water bottles. My kids already had a bowling game so we added that as well for our indoor games. The one that everybody loved was "Count Van Count, Lego Guess" guess the number to win a price!

I wanted to make a photo booth with lots of balloons, thankfully I got my husband an air pump so he helped with the balloons for the whole house! We found some props at our grocery store and some toys from my kids like tiaras, sunglasses, wands, etc.

For the food I also made it DIY but I'm so thankful that my kids love to help me because that made things a lot easier. Since we are in the middle of summer I wanted to include cold/refreshing food such as turkey sandwiches, chicken salad sandwiches, tortilla wraps, fruit cups, veggie cups, cookies, popcorn, variety of chips, lemonade, watermelon juice and of course cake and cupcakes. I added the Sesame Street characters from Playskool all over the table.

Last but not least this was a splash / water fun party! Thankfully the day was gorgeous, sunny and hot perfect for the party. We added four pools so the cousins and siblings would have enough space to swim all over them and Camilla had her own small private pool! Of course you got to have water balloons, water guns, a sprinkler and a big slide this way everybody is soaking wet and cool in the summer heat.

This was a fun, small gathering perfect for my baby girl.
Thanks to my family to make this day so special for her.
XOXO
