Lemonade & Cookie Stand

Saturday, April 7, 2018

Spring is here and that means spring cleaning! is the time for garage sales here on our neighborhood and we get the stuff out that we don't use or don't need anymore. My daughter Isabella knew it would be the perfect time to make a lemonade stand, so my son Alessandro decided to join in as well by selling cookies something that he loves. The money from the sales goes to their piggy banks because they are saving money for college since they were little.

A week before we decided to do a test run because they wanted to make everything from scratch and we had to make sure it was going to taste great. Glad we did it because it was a mess the first round. At the end I spent more money that they made because lemons are very expensive as I had to buy them twice! :) but that's okay they had a great experience and they want to do it again.
If you want to do your stand or just for fun here are the recipes. They had fresh squeezed lemonade, strawberry lemonade and brownie cookies along with water and candy just to give out more options. The cookies are yummy that I made a second batch for my family because they were sold out! I think we would have sold out of the lemonade too but the crazy weather of Houston decided to be a cold day and people wanted hot chocolate or coffee. We learned that next time check the weather to sell accordingly to the day.

Recipe for Lemonade:
1 cup of lemon juice
2 1/2 quarts of water
1 cup of sugar (or as you wish)

Recipe for Strawberry Lemonade:
2 1/2 quarts of water
1 cup of sugar (or as you wish)
1 cup of Country Time Lemonade Mix
1 lb of strawberries

Recipe for Brownie Cookies:
18.25 oz box brownie mix (just the dry mix)
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup of flour
2 eggs
3/4 chocolate chips (of your choice)

Preheat oven to 375F.
Place all the ingredients into a bowl and mix them with a electric mixer for a smooth dough.
With a cookie scoop place the dough into an ungreased cookie sheet with about 2" apart.
Bake for 9 minutes.
Remove them from the oven and once they start to cool down place them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Happy Spring!
